So, here I am at 36, finally landing my first "real" job after years of being a stay-at-home dad. Honestly, I feel like a fish out of water—my natural state is goofy, chatty, and a little too open. I had to get a friend to proofread every email during the hiring process, and even then, I felt like a kid playing dress-up in adult clothes. How do people keep up this professional act without slipping? To make things worse, I recently posted a harmless joke about my toddler's mess in a parenting group and got banned for using language I didn't even know was offensive. Now, I'm terrified I'll say something clueless at work and become "that guy" in the office. Is there a crash course on how to be a grown-up, or am I doomed to trip over my own words forever?
