Lately, I've been told at work that I'm "too intense" and my communication style is "too direct." Honestly, this caught me off guard. I’ve always prided myself on being professional and respectful, and no one has ever complained about my approach before. I just like to get things done and ask questions when I need clarity—does that really make me intimidating? The feedback came through a male colleague, but apparently, it was the Executive Director who wanted me to hear it. Funny thing is, there are male coworkers who are even more intense, but they’re called "passionate" and no one asks them to tone it down. Is it just me, or does this feel a bit unfair? Now I’m stuck wondering if it’s about my age or being a woman in this environment. I want to keep things smooth at work, but I’m honestly frustrated and confused. Has anyone else dealt with this? I’d love to hear your advice. 😕 #WorkplaceCommunication #GenderBias #CareerAdvice #JobCareer
