My Dog Hates People—Except My Anxious Brother

Our dog, Max, has made it his mission to avoid all human contact. He’s the type to glare at guests from under the couch and growl if you even think about petting him. But for some reason, he’s obsessed with my little brother, who has severe social anxiety. Max follows him everywhere, curls up on his lap during panic attacks, and even brings him his favorite toy when he’s having a rough day. It’s like Max decided, “Everyone else sucks, but this one? He’s my person.” It’s wild how animals just know who needs them most, even when they’re total jerks to everyone else. I used to think Max was just antisocial, but maybe he’s just picky about his humans.
