splitting bills with friends shouldn’t be this hard

Last weekend, our group of ten went out for dinner at a cozy Italian place downtown. The food was great, the wine kept flowing, and by the end, nobody wanted to deal with the bill. As usual, one brave soul paid the whole thing, and we promised to sort it out later. But honestly, that 'later' part always turns into a headache. We tried using Splitwise, but every time, someone has to manually adjust everyone’s share to match the total. There’s no easy way to check who had what, and if you forget what you ordered (which happens after a couple glasses of wine), good luck figuring it out. Plus, the only way to leave notes is in the comments, so it’s easy to lose track. I started wondering: why isn’t there an app that just lets us snap a photo of the receipt, and then everyone picks their own items when they get a chance? It would save so much time and avoid all the confusion. I even built a simple version for our group, and it’s made things way easier. But am I just being picky? Do other people have this same problem when eating out with big groups, or is it just us? Has anyone found a better way to handle splitting bills without all the hassle? Sometimes I feel like technology should make this easier, but it still feels stuck in the stone age. If you’ve got a trick that actually works, I’d love to hear it. It’s starting to feel like splitting the bill is harder than picking the restaurant! #groupdinners #splittingbills #techfrustrations #Travel
