Am I a Monster for Keeping My Cat Indoors?

My 5-month-old cat, Luna, has been with me since she was a tiny fluffball. I adopted her after spotting her hiding under a bench at my college. Since then, she’s basically living the spoiled life: gourmet food, toys everywhere, and more attention than I give myself. But here’s the thing—my sister keeps saying I’m cruel for keeping Luna inside. She thinks I’m depriving her of freedom and her cat family. Meanwhile, Luna stares out the window like she’s plotting her escape. I only take her out for vet visits because, honestly, it’s scorching outside and I don’t want her to melt. I’ve checked with vets and read a million articles—everyone says it’s fine to adopt kittens at 3 months. I know she’s safer and happier here than she’d ever be on the street.
