my dad has this family group chat dedicated entirely to his cats. Not the family, not the grandkids—just the cats. Every day, he drops a fresh photo dump: cats on the windowsill, cats in the laundry basket, cats judging him from the top of the fridge. He even gives us updates like, "Mittens refused her breakfast again. Send thoughts and prayers." Honestly, it’s become the highlight of my notifications. Sometimes I wonder if he’s more invested in their drama than in ours. Anyone else’s parents treat their pets like royalty and expect the rest of us to be emotionally invested in every whisker twitch?
