chasing sunset at merced river, yosemite

We spent the whole afternoon hiking around Yosemite, and by the time we reached the Merced River, the sun was just starting to dip behind the mountains. The water was glowing gold, and honestly, I was a little out of breath (maybe I need to work on my cardio). I fumbled around in my backpack for my camera—why is it that the thing you need is always at the very bottom? My hands were shaking, probably from both excitement and exhaustion, and I nearly missed the shot. I managed to snap a photo, but I keep wondering: do you ever feel like the best moments are the hardest to capture? Sometimes I think I spend more time worrying about getting the perfect picture than actually enjoying the view. Has anyone else tried to take a photo in Yosemite and ended up with a blurry mess?
