I spent my Saturday afternoon trying out this new app called VidEarth. Basically, you can wander around famous cities like Paris or Tokyo without ever leaving your living room. I was so excited—I even made myself a cup of coffee and pretended I was in a little Parisian café. But here’s the thing: as much as I loved seeing the Eiffel Tower on my TV, it just wasn’t the same as actually being there. I kept thinking about the time we got lost in Montmartre and ended up finding that tiny bakery with the best croissants. Can a virtual stroll really compare to the smell of fresh bread and the sound of street musicians? Has anyone else tried this kind of virtual travel? I’m curious if you felt it was a good substitute, or if it just made you miss the real thing even more.
