cotopaxi view from our apartment roof after two months in quito

After living in Quito for two months, I finally dragged myself up to the roof to take a proper look at Cotopaxi. You’d think I’d have done it sooner, but between getting used to the altitude and figuring out where to buy decent bread, time just slipped away. When I finally made it up there, the volcano was peeking out from behind the clouds, and I actually felt a little silly for not doing this earlier. But here’s the thing: the view is stunning, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s really worth all the hype. I mean, sure, Cotopaxi is impressive, but the city’s smog and the ever-present construction cranes kind of ruin the magic. And don’t get me started on the wind up there—it nearly knocked my phone out of my hands! Has anyone else spent ages in a place before finally checking out the so-called must-see spot? Did it live up to your expectations, or did you feel a bit underwhelmed like I did? Sometimes I think the best views are the ones you stumble upon by accident, not the ones everyone tells you to see. #QuitoLife #Cotopaxi #TravelStories #Travel
