Four years together, and now I'm seriously questioning if I should marry a man who can't even send an invoice on time but somehow never misses a hair appointment. He blames his ADHD for not doing basic things—dishes, laundry, taking out the trash—but has zero problem booking a massage or yoga class. Meanwhile, I'm left stressing over his unpaid bills and, oh, lending him money when he runs out (because he "forgot" to invoice clients... again). He refuses to let anyone else help with his admin work—except me, who already has a full-time job. I feel like I'm being set up to be his personal assistant and ATM, not his partner. The ADHD excuse is for children. Yes, even in adults, ADHD can be a hindrance, but with maturity a full grown adult with ADHD knows how to overcome their limitations to get their business done. Like you said, he can accomplish the things he WANTS to accomplish. He's a man-child crutching on his diagnosis.

He is using this ADHD to scam you. i have had ADHD my entire life, and once I was diagnosed, I took steps to make sure it didn't hinder my life. I take my meds and go to regular therapy appointments. Yes, living with this is hard but not impossible. I was a single mother raising 2 kids when I was diagnosed, so trust me, I didn't have the luxury of just throwing up my hands and saying, "Oh well."
