Never thought I’d be the person with a mini jungle by the window, but here we are. I started with a couple of herbs—basil and mint—because they seemed easy. Turns out, they actually thrive with just a little sunlight and water. I got so excited seeing those first green shoots pop up, I added a tomato plant next. It’s wild how much joy checking on them brings every morning. One thing I learned: don’t drown your plants. I used to water them every day, but letting the soil dry out a bit between waterings made a huge difference. Also, using old jars as pots totally works. Now, my apartment smells fresh, and I get to brag about homegrown herbs in my pasta.
