why did my first tomato plant make me feel like a wizard?

Last spring, I stuck a tiny tomato seed in a pot, not expecting much. I was just bored and needed a hobby. But then, every morning, I’d peek out and see a little more green poking up. I started talking to it, maybe a little too much. Watering became my favorite part of the day. I learned to check the soil with my finger—if it felt dry, time for a drink. Sunlight was its best friend, so I moved it around to catch those rays. When the first tomato turned red, I felt like I’d pulled off a magic trick. Eating it was the best part.
