Ozempic Rebound Is Real—Here’s the Scoop

Turns out, the Ozempic weight loss magic doesn’t last if you stop taking it. New research found most people who dropped pounds on meds like Ozempic or Wegovy gained it all back within a year after quitting—yep, even after losing 30+ pounds! Experts say unless you’re ready to make it a long-term thing (or overhaul your lifestyle), the weight will likely creep back. So, is Ozempic a quick fix or a lifetime commitment? #Ozempic #WeightLoss #HealthNews #Wellness #Trending #Health

Most of the people making comments here do not know the facts about these medications. Obesity is considered a disease by the AMA, CDC & WHO, those are just the top three. Obesity should be treated as such, you would not fault someone for taking blood pressure medication. Obesity related diseases cost the US 173 billion dollars annually. As usual internet “experts” completely uninformed.

These drugs are a tool, not a solution. They will help you get the weight off quickly, but then it's up to you to do the work to keep it off. Take the opportunity to learn to eat right and exercise.

Been on it 5 years, never felt a negative effect. Keeps A1C in check. Lost a few lbs. Amazed to read all these negative comments. 🤷‍♀️

my wife is using these drugs currently for weight loss and they have helped her shed about 60lbs. She struggled with her weight after her freshman year of college due to her metabolism slowing way down from hypothyroidism. Even on thyroid medication it became incredibly difficult for her to maintain a healthy weight even when dieting/eating properly and exercise. 3 kids later she was really struggling. She then tore her MCL in one knee that required surgery and has arthritis in both making exercise very difficult. I'm glad she's found something to help her lose weight. She's eating less and healthier, her mood is better, and get self confidence and energy are rebounding well. I'm all for it if it helps someone.

GLP-1 Inhibitors were originally created to help patients with diabetes type 2 achieve a lower hemoglobin A1c. Appetite suppressant and weight loss was just a bonus. That is what the drug should continue to be prescribed for, and nothing more. It blows my mind to see already thin people with no history of diabetes injecting themselves with these drugs. They end up walking around looking sickly thin and malnourished. Here again, common sense should be used. More importantly, the medical profession, and the FDA, should reconsider who is eligible for these drugs. This seems to be a case of the drug manufacturers just wanting to make profit.

you sound like this is something new. of course you'll gain weight back if you eat the way you use to before the drugs. everyone knows that. Didn't need to pay for this research.

2 yrs on it.. A1C steady at 5.7, 60 lbs lighter all for over a year. no longer have to see a kidney specialist, he has released me from care as my chronic kidney disease is actually improving!! no longer on blood pressure medication, no longer on any other diabetes medication other than the shot!! while I still take meds for cholesterol and herd since I have been taking ozempic I have slowly been able to remove 7 pills from my daily intake. I expect to be on it indefinitely but the upsides are worth it!!!

ozempic Took me off 4 shots a day of insulin and an A1c of 9.2 to 1 shot a week and an A1c of 7.0 in 3 months! It has made my life normal now. It has a purpose. My liver and kidney damage is less , this is great!
