It allows you to get the trailer further into the water without submerging the car as much, maybe not at all. Ingenious!

there's all kinds of wrong in this pic... the boat would have to stay running in gear to push the trailer up the ramp and out of the water

The speed rating on the caster wheel is probably more the the smart car can tow it so it should be fine
