My nephew is the pickiest eater I’ve ever met—if it’s not a pop tart or a frozen waffle, he’s not interested. This morning, I made a full breakfast spread: scrambled eggs, tortillas, refried beans, and crispy potatoes. He turned his nose up at everything except the tortilla. Hours later, hunger got the best of him and he asked if I’d make him an egg. He wanted to watch, probably to make sure I didn’t sneak in anything weird. I cracked the egg, hit it with salt and pepper, and whisked it up. He was genuinely surprised—seasoning eggs was apparently a new concept. When I dropped a pat of butter in the pan, his eyes got huge. “You put butter in the eggs?” he asked, like I’d just revealed a secret ingredient. He tried the eggs and immediately declared, “Butter is the key!” The look on his face said it all—he’d only ever had dry, bland eggs before. It’s wild how many people think they hate a food, but they’ve just never had it cooked right. Anyone else have a story where someone’s mind was changed by a decent version of a dish? #ButterIsTheKey #CookingStories #PickyEaters #FoodAwakening #Food
