Walmart’s Storm Aftermath Sparks Outrage

A Walmart worker posted a wild pic of crates full of trashed food after a storm knocked out their store’s coolers—and it’s not even all of it! People are freaking out over the waste, especially since storms are hitting more often and hard. Some say other stores lost even more. It’s a huge reminder of how extreme weather messes with our food supply and leads to tons of waste. Would you move, reinforce your home, or just ride it out if disasters kept hitting? #FoodWaste #ExtremeWeather #Walmart #ClimateCrisis #ViralPhoto #Food

All these stores should give the food away if they are going to just throw it away. I never understood that why not help people out like some of the fast food restaurants do

everyone getting upset that they didn't donate the food, yall do realise that the power being off and temps dropping even only be a few degrees can cause food to spoil. that being said if they donated it and someone got sick, they could be sued and the same ones complaining they didn't donate it would be the first ones complaining that wal mart donated spoiled food

Yeah, they should develop an app that notifies anyone to come get free food. Also, the stores should have generators or storage batteries. Walmart can afford the correct technology.

Maybe all of you who are complaining about the food being "wasted" should take classes in food safety. Better yet, go work for a food store or restaurant and learn the rules and laws on food safety. Cooked for has to stay hot and cold food has to stay cold. If it is out of temp, it must be thrown out. Also, hot foods like fried chicken have a time limit of 4 hours. After that, if it's not bought, it gets thrown out. Have you ever been to a Circle K? Their hot dogs, etc, have a 4 hour hold, and then they get tossed. Learn about food safety before opening mouth & inserting foot when you have no idea what you're talking about.

🤔Wouldn't you think as WEALTHY as the walmart company is, they would have generators or solar hook ups that kick on when the power goes out🤷‍♀️

If walmart had given the food to shelters or customers and they got sick that would have been a law suit. So your damned if you do or damned if you dont

what is wrong with Wallymart (deliberate misspelled). I do pharmacy delivery have seen health care facilities pharmacy with standby emergency generators to keep such places going when the power goes down. might cost some money all right but Wallymart could install these at their stores. and it might be cheaper in the long run to put them in than than not if the cost of spoiled food is high enough and it happens often enough. bottom line doesn't have to be this way

A hurricane was going to hit Florida, and all the power went out, the truck still showed up with food to deliver to Food Lion. The manager made a decision to donate all the cold amd frozen foods straight from the delivery truck. They also gave away everything cold in the store along with all the ice. Much respect, I still remember and shop there til this day.
