Why Am I Always the One Texting First?

Ever feel like you’re the only one keeping your friendships alive? Yeah, me too. I used to wonder if my friends even liked me, or if I was just their backup plan. But then I realized, maybe I wasn’t making it easy for them to reach out. So, I started letting people know I was up for anything—karaoke, hiking, you name it. I even made sure everyone had my number (because, apparently, not everyone checks their DMs). I tried not to take it personally when I didn’t get invited to every brunch or movie night. Sometimes, people just assume you’re busy or not interested. But when it really started to bug me, I actually talked to my friends about it. Turns out, they thought I was the group leader and would always make the plans! Now, I try to show my appreciation when someone else takes the initiative. Funny how just being a little more open and honest can change everything.
