How I Tried (and Failed) to Convince My Dad to Host a Sleepover 😅

You ever get that itch to have your friends over for a sleepover, only to realize your dad is the ultimate gatekeeper? That was me last weekend. I had my guest list (just three guys, all my age), a plan for games, and even a detailed schedule. I practiced my pitch in the mirror, trying to sound mature and responsible. But when I finally caught my dad in a good mood, he hit me with a million questions: Who’s coming? Where will they sleep? What if someone gets homesick? I tried to remind him of his own wild sleepovers as a kid, but he just laughed and said, “Times have changed, son.” I didn’t throw a fit (okay, maybe I sulked a little). Instead, I offered alternatives—maybe a backyard campout or a late-night hangout. Still, he wasn’t sold. But hey, at least he listened, and I learned that sometimes, being persistent (and chill) is half the battle.
