Did You Know Sinus Issues Could Be IgG4-RD?

Turns out, a lot of folks with stubborn sinus problems might actually have something called IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD)—and it’s getting missed! Over 60% of patients had classic nasal symptoms like congestion, pain, and even loss of smell, but the condition often flies under the radar because current guidelines don’t include the nose as a key site. Most people got better with steroids or surgery, but relapses happen. Should the rules change to catch this sooner? Wild! #HealthNews #SinusProblems #IgG4RD #MedicalUpdate #DidYouKnow #Health

IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a chronic immune condition that causes abnormal immune cell accumulation and organ damage. It's characterized by tumor-like masses or painless enlargement in multiple organs, and often affects the pancreas, bile ducts, salivary glands, and lacrimal glands. Symptoms vary depending on affected organs, but can include fatigue, weight loss, headaches, and bulging eyes.

Makes sense when you talking about chronic sinus issues versus seasonal or just triggered. Chronically, being associated with inflammation excess or inflammation related diseases.

I've never heard of this before and I'm in my sixties. I'm always having sinus troubles. They keep saying it's a sinus infection and put me out antibiotics but it comes right back. I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis which is a auto immune disease. I wonder if this is why I have terrible sinus pain and headaches???
