should i trust my niece and nephew to feed my puppy or am i setting myself up for chaos?

So my sister’s kids have been super excited to help feed my new puppy. They’re adorable, but they’re also, well, kids. I’m a little nervous about letting them take over. What if they give him too much food? Or forget to fill his water? Has anyone else let young kids help with pet care? Did it go smoothly or did things get messy?
