Facing the Fear of Aging Alone: Who Will Care for Me?

I (50f) just spent two months across the country caring for my aunt in hospice. I was her only family, and being there for her made me think deeply about my own future. My husband is ten years older, and we have no children or close relatives. If I outlive him, who will be there for me? The thought of ending up in an understaffed Medicare facility terrifies me. I’m not religious, so I can’t lean on a faith community. What do people with no one do to ensure they’re not neglected as they age?
