Saw a Kid Alone After Dark—Worried!

Just got home and noticed a little kid sitting by themselves on the curb, way after sunset. It honestly made my heart sink a bit. I kept looking around for an adult but didn’t see anyone nearby. I remember being told not to talk to strangers as a kid, but I couldn’t just walk by, you know? I asked if they were okay and they said they were waiting for their mom, but it was already so late. I stayed nearby until I saw an adult come up, but it still left me uneasy. I hope they got home safe. It’s just wild how much you worry about other people’s kids when you get older.
