I pressed charges on the boy that bullied my daughter this morning

Recently, my daughter has been dealing with relentless bullying. One boy and his friends crossed an unforgivable line—he ripped off her wig and threw it in the trash. That wig wasn’t just expensive; it was a lifeline for her as she faces medical issues causing her hair loss. I didn’t hesitate. I took my daughter, the damaged wig, and the receipt straight to the police station and pressed charges for assault and destruction of property. Later, the boy’s parents reached out. They admitted they couldn’t afford to replace the $600 wig and asked for understanding because “he’s just 15.” But being young doesn’t erase the need for accountability. I told them plainly: actions have consequences. My daughter deserves to feel safe and respected, and it’s my job to make sure she knows that. Have you ever had to advocate for your child in a tough situation? I'd appreciate hearing your experiences. #ProtectOurChildren #ParentingThroughChallenges #AccountabilityMatters #StandUpForWhatIsRight #Parenting

Well done mom The bullies consistently get away with their bad behaviours. The response by the pare6of the bully is pathetic. Pay up and put your son to work so he can repay you.Plus what.punishment have you planned.Best wishes and God Bless for your daughter. 🙏⚘

They have raised an inconsiderate bully. The parents need to pay for a new wig immediately, and the boy needs to have community service, at the least. I would be absolutely appalled if my 15-year-old did anything like this. He would actually be the one trying to defend her, as it should be.

Be understanding because he's 'just' 15? Seriously? If he's 15, he should know better than to do what he did. Don't back down at all. They'll have to figure out a way to pay.

A kid punched my sin and broke his glasses. I went up there and asked what they were going to do about it. In school suspension was all. I took out my phone and the principal asked what I was doing. Calling the cops for assault and destruction of property. The kid got an actual suspension and they cut me a check to replace his glasses.

The parents shouldn’t have to pay back the 600. The child should 15 1/2 he can get a job and a work permit he can pay that back himself. He won’t do it again if he hast to pay it back himself my mother and wife we’re both the district attorneys. They tried to tell parents your child. Did it let your child pay for it. If you do it for them, you’ll do it for them the rest of their life.

I was the only girl with long hair (to my waist) when in high school. Everyone else had big hair or Princess Diana bobs. I was chased by girls with scissors, trying to cut my hair!! I went to teachers, the principal, EVERYONE!! No one would do anything!! I named the girls to my mom & dad, and Dad called each one's dad (amall town... everyone knew everyone!) The next day EVERY ONE OF THEM came to school with red, swollen eyes, and they sat down GINGERLY at their desks! The bullying stopped immediately!!!

I was bullied in school! My mother didn’t go to the principal or the parents. She sat me down and told me the next time that kid does that., You look them straight the eyes, haul off and kick him right between the legs as hard as you can! That kid never spoke to me again!!!!

excuse me, did you say that the kid was 15? he deserves no understanding because of his age.... should make him make payments to the girl until he pays back what he ruined. no excuse for a 15 year old he knew better.

I tried going through the “right channels” when my daughter was being bullied I went to the school and to the police station and all I got was boys will be boys so when I learned these boys ages 15 and 16 were gonna jump my daughter she was 14 at the time for standing up for a boy with mental disabilities and ruining their fun I went through that school like a f-5 tornado they learned real quick when it comes to protecting MY child or any child for that matter I’m done playing by the rules because the rules don’t protect the kids that are being bullied they protect the bullies

Just 15? That’s plenty old enough to know right from wrong. That is…if the parents even taught him. But from their response they probably didn’t
