can I keep chickens in my backyard in the city?

I grew up on a farm, and I’ve always loved having chickens around. 🐔 They were like pets to me—super friendly and fun to have. Now that I’ve moved to a city neighborhood, I’m wondering if it’s possible to have hens in my backyard? I miss the sound of clucking and fresh eggs! But I’m not sure how well they’d fit into a more urban setting. Has anyone else kept chickens in a city or suburban backyard? How do you handle space, noise, and any local rules?
