Struggling with a tough family choice​

I'm facing a huge family dilemma. In my country with low - level education but where my wealthy family runs a successful business, I long to study in the US for a good education and my dream career. When I told my father, he said he'd cut ties if I went. He won't let me join the family business and might stop talking to me. Staying means financial security and family support, but an unappealing education and possible lifelong regret. I'm scared of losing my father, the family legacy, and waking up regretful.
