children's books that make you cry?

'The Giving Tree' totally shreds my heart every single time. I mean, how does a simple story about a boy and a tree get so darn emotional? It’s like becoming an adult syphons away our ability to just take without giving back. And don't even get me started on 'Charlotte’s Web.' Damn that spider. It's like a gut punch every time I reach the final pages. Also, anyone else been absolutely wrecked by 'Bridge to Terabithia'? They should have issued tissues with that book! I get it, life lessons and all, but wow. Anyway, am I alone here or are these books universal tear-jerkers?
