thinking about a pet but no cats or dogs?? help!

I finally got my work schedule under control and now I’m seriously thinking about getting a little buddy to keep me company. The thing is—I want something different from the usual cat or dog. Something lowkey, quiet, but still down to chill with me after work. Bonus points if it actually likes people and isn't just hiding 24/7 lol. Any suggestions for pets that are fun to interact with but won’t destroy my apartment or scream at 3am?
