Boundaries crossed, feeling stuck

I (28f) discovered my partner (30m) searching through my messages without my consent. This has breached my trust, and now I am constantly worried about privacy. I love him deeply but can't shake off the feeling of violation and anxiety. I want to address this but fear it might lead to a bigger conflict.
