Deciding on a Hysterectomy—It's Complicated

Even when you know you’re done having kids, saying goodbye to your uterus can bring on a wave of unexpected emotions. I’m about to have a hysterectomy to relieve severe fibroid issues and while I’m relieved to leave painful periods behind, part of me feels sad—like I’m closing a chapter I loved.
