Is true love even possible or just a social construct?

I've been thinking a lot about whether true love actually exists. Honestly, I don’t think it does in the way we often think. Love seems more like a mix of choice, compromise, and the time we invest in each other. We all have different values and tastes, so it's hard to imagine two people perfectly matching as soulmates. Most of us just pick partners based on what we’re looking for, and over time, we build connections that feel like love. But is it really love, or just the result of all that effort?
