I did all of that except exercise because of back issues. I lost 80# on Ozempic and another 22# on my own .I continue to track all my food and focus on high protein, low fat and low carb diet. my diabetes is reversed, off of insulin and all meds.

I did follow those rules, though I could not eat more than a true portion anymore.. which was good. I lost 98 lbs.. I started out 280 lbs and 1 year later I was down to 182, there was an issue with insurance wanting prior authorization. By the time it got done it was Jan and insurance changed guidelines. Do the Dr started over, but used my new BMI.. well I was now below BMI of 30, and my blood pressure was normal amd so was my HGA1c.. well I was off for 6 weeks and still lost a bit more weight. But now I gained some back. I wanted to get to my preferred weight of 140 to 155, but insurance says I can’t until my numbers go back up. I don’t want them to slowly go back. I want a dose that at least maintains a healthy weight. I was feeling so good, more energy, healthier no sugar cravings. The guidelines state you should stay on a maintenance dose.. I don’t get it. I know it sounds like because I’ve lost a lot of weight I should just be ok. I’m going to try to work on losing by myself.

Who Me?
My insurance don’t pay for any weight loss medication. A year and a half ago I started compound semaglutide, I lost 20% of my body weight. I was 259 and went down to 202. I was in the highest dose for about 2 months and wasn’t losing, so I slowly went down until I was off. With 2 auto immune diseases it was next to impossible to lose weight, these shots were the only thing that did it! I haven’t felt that good in over 30 years, since I was diagnosed with hypothyroid/hashimotos. Since September of 24’ I have gained back 15 lbs, I was in a car accident that has caused lower back herniated discs as well as cervical herniated discs. I have had several epidurals for pain, under anesthesia as well as multiple medications. It hasn’t been the best time. I am going in for surgery in May and I’m planning on going back on the shots right after. I want to get down to my goal weight, 160.

I was on Ozempic for all of 2024, then was switched to Mounjaro, which thankfully has zero side effects for me. I was insulin-dependant for 15 years but never had another injection after first taking Ozempic. I went from 260 in January of 2024 to 130 today. My docter compared it to no longer carrying around another adult every minute of the day. I went from size 32 to size 10. Ozempic and Mounjaro have quite literally saved my life. At 80, I am so much healthier and have more strength, energy and drive than I've had for a great many decades.I can now walk miles, and even averaged 2 miles a day on recent Disneyland trip, doing all the rides...even Tatiana's /Splash Mountain in the front seat! Bottom line, Ozempic and Mounjaro not only actually saved my life, they have restored the quality of my life.

insurance won't pay for it unless you are a type 2 diabetic I am on it and my doctor has to authorize it every month to make sure I'm doing OK on it with my diabetes and my kidneys doctor is working with my diabetic doctor so my insurance pays for it but all that can change you never know

I was on a similar glp 1 for 11 months. I lost 75 pounds. I had no side effects other than some mild nausea the first month. But I followed ALL the rules. I joined NOOM for the support and to log in my meals and to learn how to eat in a healthy way. So I ate fruit/veggie/Lean proteins. I got full quickly and I stopped eating when I was full. To stay healthy, I forced myself to eat three meals a day. I never actually felt the hunger sensation. I walked an hour a day, four days a week. My insurance stopped paying after 11 months so I only lost 75lbs, I wanted to lose 100. Its been 18 months and I'm happy to say I have not gained a single pound. I actually lost another five pounds. But I still do all the things I did when I was on the injections. My hunger came back but I count calories meticulous and I only allow myself 1400 healthy calories a day.
