We'll definitely back here again with the fam!

My parents loves this place so much we celebrated Mothers Day AND Fathers Day here. Delicious Italian food! But also, they love the generous freebies -- house bread, fried corn-bread appetizer, panna cotta. Thank you. It really goes a long way to make it a really good time for us. The service has always been kind and attentive, and we never felt rushed. They have a backroom that's more ambient and quiet, but it only opens after 5 or 530pm. Parking is OK but I was always able to find street parking. Food: - We love the free bread here and the sundried tomato sauce. So good. It starts off the meal very well. - Salmon Pasta - yummy smoked salmon. The fish eggs are a nice touch to make it more textually interesting! Mom's favorite. - Frutti di Mare - Seafood pasta with mussels, clams, shrimp. Really chewy al dente noodles. Dad's favorite. Probably my favorite too! - Gnocchi Sorrentina - Sausage, Mozzarella -- Their gnocchi was pillowy soft. The mozzarella was so fresh and delicious. - House made Rigatoni with Sausage - this is kinda similar to the above gnocchi but with less tomato sauce. I prefer the chewier texture of the Rigatoni! - Fungho Pizza (Mushroom, Truffles) - Great but no truffle flavor! But fortunately for Fathers Day I got him some italian truffle oil. With it added, it was delicious. And my truffle oil wasn't even the fancy kind! Please actually have truffle flavors on this pizza! - Marinara Pizza. Simple, they nailed it. The crust here is more doughy and medium-thick. It holds up well and tasted fresh out of the oven. - Tiramisu dessert - pretty sweet, just okay even as a big tiramisu lover. I preferred the: - Affogato! Ice cream with espresso. It's just really good. Petite.

Fishing buddies, Cleaning a Fish is Easier Than You Think!

Gut your fish as soon as you can after catching it. If you want to keep fishing, keep the fish alive in a bucket of water or on ice until you’re ready. Cut a shallow line from the anus up to the base of the gills with a sharp fillet knife. Don’t go too deep—just enough to open the belly. Scoop out all the guts with your fingers or a spoon. Make sure you get everything, including any dark kidneys along the backbone. Rinse the inside thoroughly with cool water. This helps get rid of any leftover bits and keeps the flavor fresh. Scrape off the scales using the back of a knife, working from tail to head. If you’re dealing with a catfish or similar, peel the skin instead. Dispose of the guts properly—never just leave them lying around. #FishingTips #FishCleaning #OutdoorCooking #Food #Cooking

I Found Cans in My Pantry That Are 8 Years Old – Is It Safe to Eat Them?! 😳🍲

Okay, guys, I had to do a little experiment today because I found two cans of Beanie Weenies in my pantry—one I bought yesterday, and the other... it’s been there for 8 years. So, naturally, I had to figure out if it’s still safe to eat. 🤔 We all know canned food lasts forever. But does it? I mean, one has an expiration date of June 2025, but the other one expired in 2017. 🤯 Here’s the thing: expiration dates don’t always tell the whole story. It’s all about how the can looks before you open it. Is it rusted? Is it swollen? Are the seams damaged? These are signs the food could be bad. I almost threw away some perfectly good cans just because they didn’t have a pretty label anymore. I don’t want to risk it with bad food, so I’m tossing anything that’s even a little questionable. Better safe than sorry, right? 🙅‍♀️ #FoodStorage#CannedFood#FoodPreservation

Microwave Bacon & Egg Sandwich in Minutes

Spray a bowl or coffee mug with cooking spray to make sure your egg comes out easily. Crack an egg into the bowl, prick the yolk with a fork (trust me, this keeps it from exploding), and cover with cling film for better cooking. Microwave for 1 minute. Place the cooked egg on your bread. If you want that classic round shape, a coffee mug works best. For the bacon, let the plate cool for a minute first. Lay out two slices of bacon between paper towels to soak up extra fat. Use your microwave’s bacon setting, or cook for about 90 seconds per slice on high. Add mayo or a slice of American cheese if you like. Stack it all up and enjoy right away. This is my go-to when I need a quick, satisfying breakfast or snack. #BreakfastHacks #MicrowaveMeals #EasyRecipes #Food #Cooking

Keep Corn on the Cob Fresh All Week

Leave the husks on your corn when you bring it home. The husks lock in moisture and keep the corn from drying out. Don’t even peel back the tips unless you absolutely have to check the kernels. Pop the whole cobs (unwashed) into a large zip-top bag. Squeeze out as much air as you can, seal it up, and stash it in your fridge’s veggie drawer. If you’ve already husked the corn, try to use it within a day or two for the best flavor. Husked corn dries out fast. Planning to freeze? Remove the husks, blanch the cobs or kernels, cool them in ice water, and pack them into freezer bags. Squeeze out the air before freezing. Frozen corn lasts up to a year. Leftover cooked corn should go in an airtight container in the fridge and eaten within 3-5 days. If it smells weird or looks moldy, toss it. #cornonthecob #foodstorage #summertips #Food #Cooking
