I had an interview today for a position that initially excited me—the job description was great, the salary was good, and the company had positive reviews. I walked in, shook the recruiter's hand, and sat down. Then came the first question: “How do you handle unpaid overtime?” I laughed, thinking it was a joke. But the interviewer just stared, waiting for an answer. I asked if overtime was mandatory and if there was any compensation. They replied, “We expect employees to stay until the work is done. Everyone here is passionate about their work, and we don’t track overtime.” I stood up, thanked them for their time, and said, “This isn’t for me,” then walked out. Now I’m second-guessing myself.
